How to Crochet a Magic Ring ? - Step by Step Introduction for Beginners

Crochet a Magic Ring is a very basic skill in crochet world. If you can crochet a magic ring then you can start almost 90% of the crochet!

Let's find out how to crochet a standard magic ring!

You will need: Yarn, Hook, Stitch Marker

Magic ring (mr)

1-3. Start by making a loop to make a slip knot.

 

4-5. Yarn over, and pull through the loop but don't tighten.

6-10. Insert the hook into the loop, and make the first single stitch.

11. You can add a stitch marker here to indicate this is the first stitch of first round. 

12. Continue making stitches until you have the number you need.

13-14. Pull on the yarn tail to tighten the loop.

15-18. When you close the circle, inset the hook into the first stitch where the marker is. Make one slip stitch (sl st)

19-20. Make one chain stitch (ch) to start the second round. 

21-22. Make another stitch in the first stitch where the marker is, this is the first sc in second round. 

23. Then you can move the marker into the first stitch of the second round.
